Over the past two days several vehicles in area towns were burglarized while parked on driveways and in unlocked garages, with three being stolen.   Proceeds from these incidents included items such as purses, sunglasses, iPhones, and EZ passes.   Allendale Police would like to offer the following tips to help reduce your chances of becoming a

Coffee with a Cop

  Allendale police are hosting their fourth Coffee With a Cop event on May 9, at Dunkin Donuts.  From 2:00 to 5:00 PM, police will be at the available to talk with residents in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and share a cup of coffee.  

West Crescent Avenue Reopened

West Crescent Avenue is now open. Steel plates have been put on the roadway and there is a 25mph speed limit as well as a 10-ton weight limit. Variable message boards will advise motorists of these restrictions. Please drive with caution on West Crescent between Beresford Rd and the south side of the West Crescent

Bear Cub Sightings

It's that time of year when bear cubs will again be passing through our area.  The Allendale Police will again be  monitoring the situation and encourage residents to continue reporting any sightings to the police by calling 201-825-1900. W. Crescent Ave Milling & Paving

Milling and Paving of W. Crescent Avenue – Week of Monday 4/16 – Friday 4/20 PSE&G has contracted with TILCON to mill & pave W. Crescent Avenue from South of the W. 2018 Internship Program

The Allendale Police Department announces its internship program for the spring semester.   The program is open to college students majoring in Criminal Justice or a related field with a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Applicants must also be of good character and be free of any criminal history. Diversion Burglaries

Allendale Police want to warn residents that area towns have been experiencing diversion burglaries. Diversion burglaries are when someone posing as a utility employee, municipal worker or handyman comes to the front door and talks to someone or asks them to take them to another part of the property while an accomplice enters and burglarizes

Child Seat Inspection Event

On Wednesday September 13 Allendale police will be at Crestwood Lake to inspect and help install child passenger safety seats.   Certified safety seat technicians will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide educational material. July 4 Fireworks Information

We've made some changes to the way our fireworks will be handled this year.  There will be hard road closures to prevent vehicles from entering the area by Crestwood's entrance and bags, backpacks, purses and other items are subject to inspection on the way into the park. Vehicle Theft

At 3:00 AM on May 31 police received a call that a resident's SUV was being stolen.  Officers Rizzo and Rosendahl responded and found two vehicles driving on Wilton Drive toward East Crescent.  One, a Toyota Camry occupied by three people, was stopped by Officer Rosendahl.  The other, the stolen SUV with one occupant, drove
